I often think it struggle to think of something to take to a dinner party as a gift for ones host. They have probably spent considerable amounts of time preparing, cooking, cleaning the house, searching for the lost dog or key to the bathroom window and then you arrive with a bottle of Ernest & Julio (no offence, I drank gallons at Uni, but we have grown up now) and demand a gluten free, vegan canapé.
I like to add to the stress by offering to bring a cocktail, or two. Obviously I bring all the kit, including shaker, and often only ask for a suitable table, mountains of ice and that they clean up after me. Lucky them, eh?
I did such for some pals who had just bought and moved into a new flat in a religious part of town. We drank, we ate, we drank some more. Here is the Aviatrix.
Ingredients. Enough for 1. But thats never enough.
2 Shots Gin
1/4 Shot Elderflower Liqueur, I always use St Germain
1/4 Shot Cherry Liqueur
1/2 Short Fresh Lemon Juice
Method
Add all to the shaker with plenty of ice. Attach the lid, firmly. Then shake for all you are worth!
Pour over ice and gulp.
Enjoy!
